If you don't know Michael Jackson passed today. Its crazy because i remember when James Brown passed and i didn't really care. I had just got into production and really didn't understand why he was so important. I do now...but me and my camp went to Taco Bell for a RIP MJ dinner and informed the women behind the counter. One was literally crushed but the other said and i quote "F*** dat N****, he won't nobody" *pause* i couldnt be mad...she was only 16 and lives in Abliene, TX. They don't even have an oldies station. None the less Michael Jackson is to my Hip Hop generation what James Brown was to the early days of Hip Hop. No artist out now can say they were not influenced by his musical legacy. May he truly rest in peace.
